Laser Neck Lift/Precision Tx™
Precision Tx™ is a laser-assisted neck lift procedure. It has rapidly become one of the most popular procedures done at Mancoll Cosmetic & Plastic Surgery. The procedure is done with oral sedation and injection of numbing medicine. In this 1.5-hour procedure, the whole look of a patient’s lower portion of his or her face and neck can be transformed into a sleeker, thinner, and more contoured neck. It has many of the advantages of a neck lift but without as much recovery or scars.
Ideal Candidates
Ideal candidates for Precision Tx are individuals who desire a slimmer-looking neck but don’t have excessively loose skin under the chin. Candidates should have realistic expectations about the outcome of their results.
Precision Tx may be a good option if you have one or more of the following conditions:
- Mild to moderate extra skin and fat under the chin
- Poor contrast between the neck and the lower portion of the face
- An obtuse angle between the neck and the chin
- Don’t want the scars or downtime of a full neck lift
Procedure
Dr. Mancoll performs Precision Tx procedures on an outpatient basis under oral sedation and using local anesthesia. It takes about 1.5 hours to perform this procedure. Through 3 2-to-3-mm small puncture sites, the laser probe is placed under the skin to treat the area from the corner of the mouth to the bottom of the ear, all the way down to the middle of the neck.
Costs
The total cost of a laser neck lift depends on several factors, including:
- Facility/laser fees
- Surgical fees
- Prescriptions for medication
Even for patients who have lost a lot of weight, neck lift procedures are considered cosmetic operations and are not covered by insurance. We participate with many cosmetic surgery financing companies, including Care Credit, and would be happy to help you with this process. Call our office for assistance.
Potential Risks and Complications
As with any surgical procedure, there are certain risks associated with a laser neck lift procedure, such as bruising, swelling, and temporary numbness of the cheeks and neck.
Although significant complications are uncommon, patients should understand that any surgery, for any reason, has risks and should not be taken lightly.
Recovery
One of the real benefits of this procedure is the minimal recovery time. Most patients will have a little bruising and swelling. Patients are asked to wear a facial support garment for 2 weeks and may return to all normal activities as soon as they are comfortable doing so.
Results
The results of Precision Tx will be immediately apparent after surgery, but they may take 3 to 6 months to fully be appreciated due to swelling. The skin tightening will take a full 6 months to mature. The improved contour and tighter neck can be expected to last for years.
